My Journey

Emily King has nearly a decade of  racing at the elite level in the UK and Internationally. She is currently Head Coach for Swansea SUP Club and a Team Rider for Neptune SUP.  Coming from a surfing background originally, Emily has been consistently one of the top SUP athletes regularly winning Iconic Elite Races and UK National Race Series. She is currently the GBSUP Technical Series Race Champion in 12’6”. She is a fully accredited with the Water Skills Academy (WSA) as a coach and trainer.

She is a multidisciplinary paddler competing in Oceans, Shore breaks, Lakes, Rivers and White Water Rapids. Her knowledge and understanding of these environments, and how to manage the different situations, is second to none. Recently winning a National White Water event further underlined her breadth of skill. She recenctly completed and Ultra SUP Triathalon around the Isle of Wight comprising of a 100 mile paddle, 80 mile bike ride and a 30 mile run! She was the first women ever to circumnavigate the island on a SUP board without stopping! She can legitimately describe herself as a true waterwomen. 

Based in the Gower, near Swansea, Emily also has a keen focus on adventure paddling, taking on multiday paddles around the welsh coast and also annually circumnavigating the Isle of Wight. Mindfulness and mental health is a key focus for Emily having suffered from PTSD previously. Emily has incorporated this aspect of her life into all of her paddle sessions.
